	Write a 3-4 page (750-1,000 word) critical analysis of one aspect of American Indian Stories that will include research from at least two scholarly sources. The body of your paper will focus on the text and your analysis of it, and the research will support your point of view. The paper must use correct MLA format, in-text citations, and a Works Cited that includes the text and all outside sources. ***Research and Write (250 words): Read several issues of a 19th century newspaper between 1880 and 1900 to find news about life in Nebraska during the Homesteading days: the Kearney Hub (1873-1893), Kearney Western Ear (1883-1889), Omaha World-Herald (1893-current), Omaha Bee (1871-1900), Omaha Weekly Republican (1861-1883), or the North Platte Telegraph (1881-1946). Write a "Summary" of one at least one article, include a direct quotation, and analyze the attitudes towards Native Americans displayed in the text. Give bibliographic data in correct MLA form for your source (See Handbook 245-246).

Some good sources would be Atlantic Monthly, Cosmopolitan, Harpers, Leslie’s Monthly, Lippincotts, Macmillans, McClures, National Geographic, or Scribners. Give bibliographic data in correct MLA form for your source (See Handbook 245).
